Threadhall
Threadhall helps school districts manage student records and district operations. This policy explains how we handle information on behalf of those districts, including information used for school notifications.
The school district controls its education records. Threadhall acts as a service provider under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) school-official exception, subject to the district's direct control over the use and maintenance of education records. We use those records only to provide the educational services the district authorizes.
Depending on the services a district uses, we process student and family names, identifiers, contact details, mobile numbers, enrollment, attendance, schedules, grades, and school financial records. Districts may also store health, discipline, and special-education records.
We also process account and sign-in information, notification preferences, SMS opt-in consent, message delivery records, and technical information such as IP addresses and security logs. We use this information to operate the service, deliver school messages, support users, and protect accounts and records.
Student data is never sold or used for advertising. Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Information is available to the district and the people it authorizes, including staff and families with appropriate access. Service providers may process information only as needed to provide services such as hosting and message delivery on our behalf, under restrictions on its use. We may also disclose information when legally required. These uses do not permit marketing with mobile numbers or SMS consent.
We retain district information according to the district's instructions, its service agreement, and applicable record-retention requirements. When information is no longer needed, we return or delete it as directed, subject to legal obligations and backup retention. We use safeguards such as access controls, encrypted connections, and audit logging to protect information.
Contact your school district to request access to, correction of, or deletion of a student record. For questions about Threadhall's handling of information, email [email protected].
